Pictures from Hannah's Priesting Day

Just a year ago Hannah Suekarran was ordained in York Minster and joined the Harton Benefice ministry team as our curate.

On Sunday 11 June 2017 Hannah returned to the Minster where - along with nine others - she was priested by Archbishop Sentamu in an uplifting service. Many worshipers from the Benefice joined the congregation and it was good there to meet with some of Hannah's family and friends. Hannah's husband Rob, who is a priest in the Ministry Team at Strensall, took part in the service as did our Rector, Chris Wingfield.

That evening St Mary's church Sand Hutton was full as Hannah presided over Holy Communion for the first time.  Rob gave an excellent sermon and the Benefice choir, conducted by Peter Stott, sang the anthem "In Christ Alone" and led the hearty congregational singing.  The hymns were chosen by Hannah.

Afterwards there were more than ample refreshments in the village hall.  Hannah was presented with a portable communion set, including wafers and communion wine, and with a cake.

Altogether this was a joyous day for everyone and we look forward to Hannah's continuing ministry in the Benefice over the next 3 years and pray for her in this role.

Here are two photographs from the day, but do go to the Photos section of the website to see more.
