COVID-19 GUIDANCE - UPDATED!

August 2023

The number of Covid-19 cases may have subsided but the virus has not gone away altogether and continues to present a risk to some.

Though many restrictions have now eased, we continue to take care to ensure everyone's safety.

It is no longer mandatory for face coverings to be worn in church, though do feel free to do so if you are more comfortable wearing a facemask. Social distancing guidelines have relaxed - but again, if you wish to maintain space between yourself and others during services, please mention this to one of the churchwardens or sidespersons when you arrive.

At Holy Communion we have resumed the use of the common cup. However, if you wish to take communion by intinction - that is taking the wafer dipped in consecrated wine - do indicate your preference when you come to the communion rail.

Hand sanitiser is available to use on entering and leaving the church.

Our churches remain open daily for personal prayer:

We warmly invite you to join us at 9am on the first Sunday each month for our online service, led by Revd. Nigel Benson, our Assistant Curate and/or Ian Lyall, our Reader. In the Calendar you will find the scripture references for the Zoom services and you might like to read these as you set aside some time for prayer and reflection.

See the Calendar for details.

It has been wonderful to have the Benefice choir back to sing at many of our services and choir practices have resumed - see the Benefice Choir pages

The Children and Youth page has updates on various activities and on 'Aubergine Operations' - our youth group

If you know of anyone in your neighbourhood who might need practical or pastoral help then do contact a member of the Ministry Team or one of the Churchwardens.

Below are some prayers that you may wish to use:

For the Christian community

We are not people of fear:
we are people of courage.
We are not people who protect our own safety:
we are people who protect our neighbours’ safety.
We are not people of greed:
we are people of generosity.
We are your people God,
giving and loving,
wherever we are,
whatever it costs
For as long as it takes
wherever you call us.

Click on the link below for more prayers.
They are set out so that you can read them as they are or perhaps cut into separate prayers to use each day:
